Emerald City Comic Con This Weekend!!

Sorry for the lack of updates recently but look for quiet a few within the next 48 hours.

This Weekend I’ll be in Seattle for ECCC.  It’s taken me longer then I wanted, but the mini-comic is 95% done and I should have it at the printer either late Wednesday night or early Thursday. Then I’ll be taking them along with me to Seattle.

Thanks for the support everyone.  After ECCC I’ll be working on the next Comics For Hope issue, hopefully a bigger issue and I’ll be sending out invites for others to participate.

But don’t forget, you can still donate to the Haiti Fundraiser online, in the little widget right there in the right sidebar.  Donations for that will still be going for a while longer.

Be sure to stop by table #532 at the Long Beach Comic Expo this Saturday. Unfortunately the mini-comic isn’t going to be ready until the Comic Convention in Seattle, but I’ll be doing sketches all day at the show in Long Beach for donations for the Haiti Fundraiser!

Be Sure to Check it Out!

Thank You

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and supported the 24 hour draw-a-thon. And a very big THANK YOU to everyone who was able to donate to Save The Children. There have been many reports lately on the news channels about the kids who are homeless and without families now in Haiti and they are being targeted for trafficking and slavery and other heinous things. Save The Children is a great cause to help fight those adversaries against children. So thank you all again.

I’ll be finishing up the mini-comic and I’ll have copies ready for the Long Beach Comic Expo. I’ll try to post updates on the rest of the pages and the book as a whole.

8 Hours to Go

So 16 hours down and the drawing is going good. Unfortunatley the webcast isn’t as great. I’ve gotten it going, but then for some reason the feed cuts out and i can’t find a server on UStream.

If you’re trying to view it and it doesn’t work, please come back later and check it out.

Thanks for all the support and the donations everyone!

One Hour…

In less the an hour, the 24 draw-a-thon will begin.  Remember, donations go directly to Save The Children through first giving.

Then on Feb. 20th, I’ll be at the Long Beach Comic Expo, selling the minicomic’s, where all the proceeds will also all be going to Save The Children.

Thank you all for your support.

From Save The Children: Statement on Child Protection in Haiti

WESTPORT, Conn. (Jan. 31, 2010) — Save the Children is working quickly to uncover and gather information about 33 children reportedly stopped at the border of Haiti and the Dominican Republic with members of an American organization attempting to take them out of the country illegally.

Save the Children is coordinating with government officials and colleagues at the United Nations to ensure the very best interests of these children are protected.

Thousands if not hundreds of thousands of children may be separated from their parents and families by the earthquake that devastated Haiti on January 12, due to death, injury or the sheer chaos created by the disaster.

These children are at acute risk of trafficking, sexual exploitation and serious emotional distress. Save the Children is working with the United Nations, the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Haitian government to assess the status and needs of these children so that they can be reunited with their families.

A Little About First Giving

Here’s a little bit about firstgiving.com, the website where I’ve set up for donations to be taken.

First of all I set up for an outside source to take donations for two reasons.  One, it’s alot less hassel for me.  And two, I didn’t want people to be unsure of where their donations were going, say if they donated to a paypal account.

First Giving has been helping people raise money for different causes since 2003.  To date, they’ve helped common people and buisness’ alike raise over 115 million dollars for different causes and organizations.

All this and other information on First Giving can be found on there website. firstgiving.com
